SALALAH: Heavy drizzle continues to fall on the coastal areas and mountains of Dhofar Governorate, turning the plains and highlands green as visitors flock to enjoy the monsoon season. Temperatures are moderate, reaching 25 degrees Celsius in Salalah.

The Meteorology Department has warned motorists using the Adam-Thamrait road to exercise caution due to reduced horizontal visibility and strong winds causing dust storms. These winds have affected the Arabian Sea coast and extended to the desert regions of Al Wusta and Dhofar governorates.

The Meteorology Department urged the public to follow the latest alerts through the warnings section on the Oman Meteorology website and mobile application.

Meanwhile, several areas in the Eastern and Western Hajar Mountains experienced scattered thunderstorms accompanied by downdrafts, resulting from the formation of cumulonimbus clouds.
